Detailed LVR CPR Course Information

This course will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge to perform rescue procedures from a live Low Voltage (LV) panel and to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on a casualty. The LVR & CPR course is essential if you are performing live work or working with live switchboards.  

The course is a combination of self-paced online learning which takes approximately 2 hours, followed by a 1 hour face to face assessment. You are required to complete the online learning before attending the face to face practical assessment.

This LVR & CPR course set includes the following units;

·  HLTAID009 - Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
·  UETDRRF004 - Perform rescue from a live low voltage supply

Course Overview

The CPR and LVR course is essential if you are conducting live work or working with live switchboards. The course covers the performance of rescue procedures from a live Low Voltage (LV) apparatus, not including overhead lines and underground cables in the workplace.

It specifies the mandatory requirements of rescue from aliveLV panel and how they apply in the context of transmission, distribution or rail work functions. It encompasses responsibilities for, health, safety and risk management processes at all operative levels and adherence to safety practices as part of the normal way of doing work.

Completing the course will provide an individual with the skills and knowledge to carry out and complete the LV panel rescue procedures and to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on a casualty in a range of situations. It consists of real-life practical skills and knowledge to allow the participant to be assessed as competent in providing CPR in line withAustralian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines as well as rescue procedures from an LV apparatus. Low voltage rescue comprises responsive operations that involve the saving of life, or prevention of injury during an incident or dangerous situation.

It is recommended that this course be renewed every 12 months, in line with industry standards. The CPR Certificate is issued by our Training Partner, Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO #90909.

Assessment activities

Performance tasks and scenarios:
  • Perform CPR on an adult (incl. the use of an AED and placing a casualty into the recovery position)
  • Perform CPR on an infant
  • Inspection and placement of rescue equipment and performing a rescue
  • Low voltage panel rescue

Entry requirements

  • Physical capability to be able to meet the demands of the practical demonstration skills including CPR (Important note: In order to issue an accredited certificate CPR must be performed on the floor with no exemptions)
  • Physical fitness to be able to meet the demands of the practical demonstration skills including manual handling in the rescue of a mock casualty
  • Sufficient English language, literacy, numeracy and visual interpretation skills to successfully complete the course
  • Personal safety equipment (PPE) must be provided by the student and worn during practical sessions
  • If required, students must complete the online pre-course work prior to attending the in-person session depending on the course delivery mode
  • Online study: Students must have access to a computer, smartphone, tablet or other electronic device with access to the internet to complete the online/ pre-course studies.
  • Valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) required prior to course commencement. Click here for more information on setting up a USI if you don’t have one.

Bring your mobile device and remember your Training Desk Login details that have been provided to you
  • Arrive 10 minutes prior to the course start time. Late arrivals will not be allowed to attend the course.
  • Wear appropriate attire including enclosed shoes.
  • Ensure you have verified your USI
  • 100% completion of the online learning material prior to arrival
  • Provide photo ID upon entry
Students unable to meet the above requirements on the day will have to reschedule in-person training.

Rescheduling & Cancellation Policy

We understand that unforeseen circumstances may require in-person course bookings to be rescheduled. To reschedule an in-person course, please email us at admin@etatraining.com.au

If we receive your reschedule request 2 or more business days prior to a course, no fees will apply.

If you withdraw less than 2 days prior to your course, or fail to turn up on the day of your training, no refunds can be given.

All requested changes to a booking must be made in writing. In the event of a cancellation request by a customer, a voucher will be issued to the value of the amount paid. This voucher can be used to book any future courses with us.
